Bats

bat emergence survey

In Britain all Bat species and their roosts are legally protected, by both domestic and international legislation, making it an offence to damage or destroy a Bat roosting place (even if Bats are not occupying the roost at that time).

At JL Ecology Ltd, we are fully licensed by Natural England to carry out external and internal surveys for Bats to establish their presence or absence within a site and provide professional advice dependant on the outcome.

Bat Tree Surveys

Our principal Ecologist – Joe – also specialises in tree surveys for Bats. Joe has spent over 20 years working within Arboriculture and is a NPTC City and Guilds CS38 certified climber.

Considerable time and expenditure can be saved by conducting a climb and inspect survey, as this establishes immediately if a feature contains or has contained Bats recently, thereby eliminating the need for any further surveys, which would be necessary if only viewed from the ground.
